We will be applying all slow release granular fertilizers that will feed your lawn slowly, not producing surge growth. Our fertilizers are also phosphorus free. The weed control will be liquid, it will be applied through a spray gun. That method is the best and safest, it greatly reduces drift because it comes out in droplets not mist. It also allows me to get closer to sensitive plants, with no damage to them.

Mow and Trim

All turf areas will be mowed with the appropriate size mower for your property. The turf will be “patterned mowed” (straight lines), alternating our pattern every mowing. All trees, drives, walks, etc. will be string trimmed weekly. We will also be power blowing all hard surfaces of all debris. There will be no unsightly grass clumps on your lawn.

Core Aeration

Many lawns suffer do to compacted soil. It reduces root development. A lawn that has a deep and vigorous root system will be much more aesthetic and healthy. In other words… what you see on top of the soil is only as good as what’s below. By removing plugs, it will promote air movement, fertilizer penetration, growth, etc. Very Beneficial ! If you have an irrigation system, we will mark your sprinkler heads prior to the start of the Core Aeration. This service is done in the fall.

De-Thatching

Let me start by saying not all thatch is bad. Its good to have some, it keeps your soils from drying out quickly and keeps weeds from germinating as fast. I consider anything over a half inch of thatch excessive. When thatch is excessive often times it causes the lawns root system to establish in the thatch layer, causing unhealthy conditions. We have two types of machines for this. The one pictured for the worst thatch problems and also a rake with a vacuum system.

Insecticide Treatment

An insecticide treatment may be needed to help control pests as they occur.

Fungicide Treatment

A fungicide treatment may be needed to help control diseases as they occur on your lawn, often times simply applying fertilizer and getting the lawn growing will alleviate some diseases. When diseases are persistent due to the non-resistant grass type, it often requires lawn renovation for a long term solution.

Bed Mulching

Mulching your beds will add beauty to your home. I primarily use two types of mulch, hemlock mulch and hardwood mulch. Both mulches are fine (double ground) with a natural color. With a fine mulch it reduces the amount of weeds in your beds.

Bed Edging

If your beds have a natural edge (no plastic or steel edging). We have a bed edging machine that creates a nice clean border that defines the line between the mulch bed and the lawn.

Pre-Emergent Weed Control

This product is applied in your beds in the spring. It works similar to the crabgrass control applied to your lawn, but it also has an extra product added to control broad leaf weeds.

Post Emergent Weed Control

This service is designed to control small weeds (Up to 3 Inches) in your beds. We would use a safe contact herbicide, through a low mist spot sprayer.

Weekly-Monthly Maintenance Programs

This service will keep your beds in perfect shape through out the year. Weeds bigger than 3 inches will be pulled and weeds next to plants, all others will be sprayed. Available weekly – monthly. Please Note; Apply Pre-Emergent Weed Control will greatly reduce the cost of this service.

Pruning

Properly pruned plants is very important to ensure aesthetic value to your home and investment. There are several different types of pruning. From renewal pruning, shearing, dead heading, etc.

Fertilize Bed Plants

We offer a spring and fall granular bed fertilization program, comprised of slow release fertilizers. We also offer supplemental treatments for plants that need additional feedings, such as rhododendrons, azaleas and hydrangeas etc., that require soils to be more acidic to prosper.

Tree and Shrub Insecticide Treatment

Treating you bed plants and crab apple trees etc. with an a insecticide is vital to ensure a healthy and visibly pleasing landscape.

Tree and Shrub Fungicide Treatment

If you want your trees and plants to look their best often times it is important to apply a fungicide to them. Some trees and plants are more pron to fungus problems. Rule of thumb, including grass; Never put anything to bed wet. It will help reduce fungus diseases.

Weekly-Monthly Maintenance Programs

We offer horticulture maintenance programs. It can vary depending on your needs, weekly, bi-weekly or monthly. This service is often combined with our bed maintenance program.

Spring/Fall Clean Up

Clean property of all debris, (Turf and hard surfaces). All debris will be removed from the property. Gutter cleaning available upon request. Cleaning landscape beds and taking down perennials and landscape grasses also available.

Mosquito Control

Mosquito’s can be obnoxious and ruin an outdoor event. If you have an event planed or just want a mosquito maintenance program. It is best to treat your property 2-3 days prior to it.

Goose Control

Geese can be very messy and unhealthy for your property, family and guests. Next to the family dog constantly running them off, a product called flight control is the most effective.

It is a product that makes the grass taste bad, so they will go elsewhere to feed. That means it will “condition” the geese. It will only last till your next mowing, so basically a week. This is not a pesticide, so there is no limitations to when to enter the areas needed to be treated.

Lawn Renovation

The reasons for lawn renovation can vary, from blight and brown patch disease, a poor grade or non- desirable grasses. In many cases its not a matter of improving whats already there, it means starting over for your best results.

Sidewalk Edging

Having your sidewalks and curbs edged will give your property a well maintained and clean appearance.

Annual Flowers/Bulbs

We offer spring and summer annual flower planting and fall bulb planting. We will be happy to offer our suggestions if needed.

Needless to say: That’s a lot of water. Getting all that water away from the house is essential. It prevents basement water problems, landscape beds being washed out, etc. Having underground drains will solve those issues, as well as the very clean and professional appearance it will also give your home.
